Isaan
Isaan is the most northeasterly of seven regions and is divided into 19 provinces. Agriculture is the main source of income employing the majority of the 22 million people living there. It is also the centre of the Thai silk industry. The region is strongly influenced by Laos, the language, architecture, cooking, holidays, clothes and the arts.
